After seven years of planning, construction on Cairns’ newest water park — Adventure Waters — has officially begun.

The $45 million development will be built across a 7-hectare site situated next to the Captain Cook Highway, north of Cairns.

Inspired by Waterbom water park in Bali, Adventure Waters will feature a lazy river, Tornado 45, Mammoth River, six-lane Octopus Racer, wave pool, dual Twister slides, Plummet Freefall and Turbo Tunnel slide.

Adventure Waters will be an entirely cashless park, allowing guests to add credit to wristbands and make purchases throughout the park.

Approximately 340 jobs will be created during the water park’s construction. Once open, the park expects to employ more than 200 people.
