Dreamworld’s steam train returns for one-day test run

Almost two and a half years after Dreamworld replaced its two steam trains with a diesel locomotive, one of the steam engines was seen operating today as part of a one-day operational trial.

In September 2013 we reported that Dreamworld was in the process of replacing their two steam trains with a more energy-efficient diesel locomotive.

The diesel replacement began operating shortly after, and has continued to operate ever since.

Sources have told us that the steam locomotive may be returning in a more permanent state, however, this hasn’t been confirmed by Dreamworld management.
