Warner Bros. Movie World has officially welcomed the first guests to its new DC Comics Super-Villains Unleashed precinct as part of a week-early technical rehearsal in the lead up to its official opening next Saturday.
Guests were not only welcome to explore the new area, but were also allowed to jump aboard the park’s newest flat ride, the Doomsday Destroyer — a Suspended Twin Hammer from Intamin.
As part of the technical rehearsals — or “soft opening” as many call it — most of the DC Comics Super-Villains Unleashed precinct was accessible to the public. Construction fences were still erected around some buildings, though, while the finishing touches are being completed in the lead up to the official opening.
It is now clear that many of the previously seen villain statues are fitted with interactive elements, and are likely to be activated by purchasing and using a wristband, similar to the “magical” wands at Universal Studio’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
While the new area is in its soft opening phase, the new Super-Villains precinct isn’t guaranteed to be open until it officially opens next Saturday.
